At The Summit State School, we are proud of our well-maintained and welcoming school environment. Our outdoor areas and classroom spaces are designed to support active learning, creativity, and student wellbeing.
Classrooms
We have two large, connected multi-age classrooms that cater to students from Prep to Year 6. These flexible learning spaces are well-resourced with a range of teaching tools and materials. Our small class sizes allow for targeted teaching, personalised learning, and strong student–teacher relationships. Every child is supported to grow at their own pace in a calm, inclusive, and engaging environment.
We also have an additional classroom located downstairs, which is used as a dedicated Arts and Technologies space. In addition, we make regular use of our well-equipped multipurpose room for hands-on learning experiences and cooking activities.
Outdoor Facilities
Our outdoor facilities offer students plenty of space to explore, play, and develop physical skills.
We have:
- A multi-purpose supergrass court, used daily by students for sports and games. This facility is also available for community use, free for school families, or available to hire for $10 per hour.
- A playground, designed to support motor development, coordination, and social interaction. Students are encouraged to use the equipment during break times and during physical activity sessions.
- A large sporting oval, providing ample space for athletics, team sports, and active play.
In 2025, we are also introducing a brand-new kitchen garden, which provides opportunities for outdoor learning, sustainability education, and hands-on experiences that connect learning across the curriculum.
At the beginning of 2026 we will be installing a cubby house made by, Stanthorpe State High students.
Together, our classrooms and outdoor spaces help create a school environment where students feel happy, safe, and ready to learn every day.
